The old are not always the wise.

Have you ever had a misunderstandin/conflict with grown ups ? Whose fault was it? Did they apologize , did you? Sometimes wisdom is independent to age;for a while I didnt beleive this, until I did.
I once had to travel to Kilimanjaro so as I could collect my form four result slip as it was one of the necessities required to join high school. I really wasn't up for that journey because it wasn't for pleasure or visit and my stomach wasn't so well, nevertheless I had to go to catch up with the deadline set for joining high school.

You know how unplanned trips suck, yeah it all started when I boarded a crappy bus early in the morning, 6 amto be exact, the bus was so crappy my subconcious deleted the company's name immediately😂. Good thing I got a window seat ( they are my best by the way) I love staring at trees ,mountains going back as we head forward, call me childish but hey! that's me😂, plus it always feels good when the wind blows at your face as you close your eyes. So I took out my headphones played my favorite artist, on loop( passenger ) and closed my eyes hoping to open them after about two hours.

As soon as I was starting to get some sleep someone poked my shoulder ; alittle bit annoyed, I opened my eyes and removed my head phones. It was a man possibly in his late fifties with a woman behind him to which I presumed was his wife. " How can I help you ?" I asked eager to get back to sleeping . "My wife is not feeling so well, would you kind enough let her sit by the window so she can  feel less nauseous?" .'No I also don't feel so well😑', I was tempted to reply, But I just stood let the couple sit first th e wife first near the window then the husband. I sat at the end near the bus corridor."Thankyou" she said softly, I could barely hear it. You know that seat that everyone bumps to you as they pass, yep that one I hated that seat. But more than that I wouldn't want a sick woman to puke on me or anyone that I had to see, so I just moved. Because I was so tired I fell asleep right away didn't even place my head phones back .

' Very mannerless, I can't ever allow my daughter to move dressed like that. ' I assumed I'm dreaming , but then the voices started sounding clearer. " I saw her as she was getting into the bus and wondered how does a decent human being dresses up like this" someone from the back seat said. Who were they talking about ? " I can't even look at her , this is why girls get raped alot these days ". I knew this voice this was the woman who had sat  on my seat. I was tempted to open my eyes but decided against it. "And she isn't even shy sitting like that among grown ups "the husband responded.

" Wait, are they talking about me? " I wondered .At this point I had to open my eyes ." Kids these days" one man from the seat infront on mine commented. I turned to my right , this guy was already looking directly at me. ' are they talking about me ?' I mouthed at him. He nodded and kept on smiling. I look at my self " was it the sleeveless blouse or was it the ripped jeans?, either way I was confused😧. Why was it anyone's business? " It's these parents who feel so modern that they can't teach their daughters manners, how can a mother let her own child move outside the house with torn jeans?" I looked at that old lady again, was she even sick? I was angry . I can take all stones thrown at me but not a stratch to my parents.

But I couldn't take all of them, I was out numbered. I almost called the conductor and asked him to please switch on the tv so people could get something else to focus on . If I  was in a room I could have left but this was a bus either way I was stuck with them for the next good hours. I tried to get some sleep but I couldn't ,was I really dressed that bad 😕?

The bus attendant was now distributing drinks to every passenger. When he reached my seat I chose a stony because of its amazing ginger taste. I noticed it was the last one in the crate. ' atleast something nice is happening today' I thought as I took the jinger soda and held it in my arms😋. " Stony please for my wife the man said as he took his pepsi. 'Well atleast she has good taste in soda, I will give her that ' . " Sorry , those are done , last one was taken by this lady"  the attendant said pointing at me. ' Well, well , well what are the odds of that happening?

She then had to pick another one, Fanta .  The old man turned to look at me  " My wife loves stony so much  would you mind an exchange?" Would I mind? This guy had to be kidding? The audacity? Where did he get that boldness,  I was impressed.      " Ofcourse I mind" is what I ended up saying after mentally thinking of all crazy answers I could give him. " I love stony too " I responded. If it was a normal scenario I could just take fanta, I loved it too but no, these people had pushed the wrong buttons. "But it's like saying no to your mother". I laughed ironically , " yeah she is not my mother " I replied. He looked at me like he didn't beleive what  he heard. " Do you want me to repeat ? I said louder this time, "She is not my mother"  I made sure the old lady heard it too. "Why?" he asked  looking confused, " "Because when I offend my mother she talks to me and doesn't discuss my wrongdoings with the whole bus, and besides my mom is crazy about fanta." he looked at me like he wanted to say something but then remained silent. The bus had now stopped for people to go buy food. I went bought my fried chicken and chips then went back into the bus. I found the lady seated by the window. My seat."Please rise, I would like to have my seat now  " she looked at me dumbfounded, when she recovered, she moved to the other  seat   I enjoyed my food, drank my stony, wore my head phones and closed my eyes waiting for my bus to leave. It had been a long day already and it was just 1pm😔.

Have you ever encountered a situation where a grown up treated you unfairly and people people took his side? How did you handle it?
